If you WR Client writes
"Wrong NFS version or the game has crashed",

Then it is necessary for you:
1) to download WR Client once again,
As there can be small upgrades on which it was not informed in news.
2) After start of refreshed version WR Client to correct all defects about which it is told in right text window.

Most easier (and probably it is better) - reinstall game in to empty folder.

If WR Client writes about the wrong version,
To check up the version exe a game file ("SHIFT.exe") in properties of a file.
The version should be such what is specified in header WR Client.

If WR Client writes "File ... is modified or corrupted",
Download the necessary archive with files and unsqueeze it in necessary folder.

The client launches ok and log in works. When I launch Shift, I get the error message as in the pic:

Shift is updated with EA patch #1. No trainers. I do run the following mods:

You need to delete garbage remained from modifiers.
Each of them has made a lot of garbage.
Most easier reinstall game in empty directory.
But it is possible and to delete garbage manually.

After removing modifiers in the usual way
Come into folder PakFiles and delete all files ended on.zip.bfi, also.bkp

In a folder 24 files and 4 folders should turn out.
Tracks 1 dyrectory and 99 files.
Vehicles 144 files.

There were three extra files in the vehicles dir. All had a .bkp extension. I backed them up to a temp folder and deleted from the vehicle folder.

The client now runs with the orginal WRClientShift.exe and the one you sent via PM. Which one should I use?

Now I need to create some batch files to help backup and restore my Shift mod install save games before and after launching my Shift no-mod WRClient install.

1) Clean NFS
2) With mods

and use WR Client from site ,

For others using mods that also want to use WRClient, list of steps taken:

Backed up all save game profiles.

Uninstalled Shift, reinstalled Shift, applied patch #1.

Copied complete Shift reinstall to new directory.

Deleted three *.bkp files from Vehicle directory in Shift copy.
(note: *.bkp files are default install by Shift, not added by me)

WrClient now works correctly when clean (no mods) Shift copy is launched.

Added mods back to original Shift install.

Warning: Save games from Shift for WRclient copy will save to the same default location used for the Shift with mods copy.
If same profile name is used in both copies, be sure to make backups of Shift with mods save games and place the save game
profile used for Shift for WRclient copy into the default save game directory prior to launching Shift for WRclient copy.

How to run a second clean (non-modded) copy of Shift on a PC for use with WRClient and keep the game saves separate from the original modded copy:

Open a new user account in Windows.

While in the new user account, create a desktop shortcut to the shift.exe of the second copy of Shift. Also, create a shortcut to WRClient.

Run the WRClient, then launch Shift.

The game profile saves will now go to the dir "C:\Documents and Settings\YourNewUserAcctName\My Documents\NFS SHIFT".

Note: the path example is for Win XP/SP3. Vista and 7 are similar.

your patch 1.0.1.0 , where ?

You need to reinstall a patch.
It for you was not installed.

When you instal a patch check the version exe a game file.
In properties to look it.
Now for you 1.0.0.0 instead of 1.0.1.0.

After you will instal a patch try to start once again WR Client.

If files the program will tell about it are damaged.

To reinstall game it is necessary in a pure folder in which there is no file or a folder.

If and after that files esteem the first message in this subject of this forum are damaged.

maybe , but he can install patch without problems , and he have normal nfs.

i think if you use him nfs , then your problem can disappear
